Summer Student Job Opportunity

1 Position: Website Application Developer

Work Hrs: 35 hrs./per. week (9 weeks) from June 1 to July 31, 2026 Salary & Benefits: $17.60 per hour Application Deadline: May 19, 2026

This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs and requires that applicants must be:

  • between 15 and 30 years of age
  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (foreign students are not eligible)
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations

Major Responsibilities

  • T. Development & Platform Execution: Lead the design and development of a new responsive WordPress website and manage the Moodle LMS platform.
  • Data Analysis & Database Management: Assist in exploring and implementing management (programs, services, and reports) to enhance organizational data integrity.
  • AI & Automation: Support digital transformation by training AI agents to handle specific administration tasks and integrating AI tools into daily operations.
  • Digital Infrastructure: Perform routine maintenance, updates, and security management for all digital platforms, including payment gateway integration for fundraising.
  • Technical Training & Leadership: Provide orientation and troubleshooting support to staff and instructors on new software, website functionalities, and the LMS.
  • Intergenerational Support: Collaborate with the program team to provide technical support for the AI digital literacy workshops for seniors.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled in or a post-graduate of Computer Science, I.T., or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in WordPress, Moodle, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Data & Design: Strong skills in data analysis, MySQL, and design software such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and AI apps.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in written English and Chinese; fluent in spoken Cantonese and or Mandarin.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Living Water Counselling Centre (LWCC) is a professional counseling organization serving the Chinese immigrant community in the GTA by providing individual, marriage and family with psychotherapy, psycho-education, professional and volunteer training and spiritual formation. We are seeking an experienced group social worker to lead our upcoming intergenerational initiative. This role involve leading a 12-hour youth leadership training and managing a 10-hour practicum series of AI workshops designed for Cantonese-speaking seniors. This is an excellent opportunity for young professionals who are interested in social services to gain hands-on experience in intergenerational program coordination and clinical experiences.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor two Child and Youth Worker summer students in the execution of program tasks.
  • Intergenerational Group Facilitation: Utilize hands-on experience to lead the 12-hour youth leadership training and the 10-hour AI workshop series for Cantonese-speaking seniors.
  • Clinical Support: Support the outreach coordinator with professional screenings, intake assessments, and client referrals.
  • Program Design & Evaluation: Oversee the planning, execution, and formal evaluation of community-based education courses to ensure high-impact results.
  • Strategic Engagement: Lead special events, fundraising initiatives, and promotional activities to increase LWCC’s community visibility.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all administrative documentation for clients and referrers is maintained with professional diligence and accuracy.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Post-graduate or post-secondary student majoring in Social Work, Counselling, Public Health, or a related social service field.
  • Hands-on Experience: Demonstrated experience in running intergenerational groups and working within Chinese immigrant churches or community settings.
  • Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in spoken Cantonese; proficiency in English and Chinese is required (Mandarin is an asset).
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of AI tools, Canva, Adobe Illustrator, social media, and Microsoft Office.

Internship Program

We provide practicum training and supervision for graduate students who are pursuing Master degrees in Counselling/Psychotherapy and related disciplines.

Externship Program

We also provide practicum and supervision for postgraduates who are seeking additional training/supervision in marriage and family therapy and psychotherapy to fulfill registration requirements from the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or/and work towards accreditation with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
